The ice has thinned,

Feathery wings never really gave way to fins.
My heart carries to much weight than it will allow.
Flying was the one rule I could bend,
It was the only way I knew how.
I can’t walk on water yet,
My wings are heavily bound.
But I will drown...
If that means I get to see you again.
Caught in the wake,
The shore has gone from view.
All I have to rely on now is Heaven’s sake,
Maybe this angel needs you.
