Staring through the opened windows.
To get a glimpse of the girl who stole him away,
Something is near,
Something is here...
Out there where the wild things are.
Battling with a man who tempts me,
Even when tears have fallen on his face.
An unsure hand laying on a crooked crown.
And I stand, shaking lightly.
As time stills...
Bowing to his forgotten grace.
Stranger!
What have you done?
Coming to me with my dreams,
Laid out in a crystal ball.
Had I known what was waiting for me,
I wouldn’t have wished at all.
Looking at you now,
You’re not the one I remember.
But I can’t take my eyes off of you,
Because I’ve never seen a prince tremble.
Indifference has scoured the man I’d once known.
I don’t have the patience,
To wait for soft hands to open to me.
I’m the one made of glass.
But I don’t have the heart to stop the crying of crystalline.
From one set of sad eyes to the other,
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
Love, your Mom!
