She heard the bell, While looking down. Marveled at the sound, Echoing from the wishing well. Then she fell... And the night wrapped her in a cloud. Her breath so tightly wound, Feet so fairly bound. Now she�s stuck in this place. Dewdrops shining on her face. For the kingdom must�ve heard, About this strange little bird. The watchman turned and fled, Before she saw his eyes at all. Curiosity killed the cat, Virtue slain the dog. Typhoid stinging in her veins, As she stood and looked at their remains. Suddenly there was nowhere to belong, She wished she didn�t dream at all. About that little girl that fell, Down the garish wishing well.

Wow this is just splendid. When we write exactly the way we want and how we exactly feel then we all can relate or feel it. it is always an indeed pleasure to read your poetry especially ones with so much meaning and easy to understand. Keep writing and never stop. Love Aleja Bennett.

sometimes when one wishes to pursue a dream, the ramifications of falling into its well can be unexpectedly and unfortunately obtrusive ...

The symbols that float in and out of this poem just past the readers eyes are often sad, lost and maybe just a little disillusioned but time may alleviate the little girl lost.

This is well written with an olden feel about it...kimd of like Edgar Allem Poe..ish.
