This house is safe for all the weary watchers,
But there’s nothing that seems to set her soul at ease.
The child was left alone by December,
Plagued by what remained of the memory.
Knowing that this world wasn’t the same without him,
And crying with the truth that he wouldn’t be around.
Who was she to keep that away from them,
When they were there before the child was found...
All his secrets passed in sighs and whispers,
On skin that was softer than his own.
If it wasn’t for the dark eyes and lasting features,
To them, she could’ve been anyone.
But this is the child of Balazar Mercury,
Stolen from the only voice she knew so well.
Kept close in the hands of her infamous watcher,
Alive and hidden inside a silent spell.
I love the atmosphere you created with and around this write, it is like a story that is hinted at but not divulged completely. Love, fear, hope and sadness all comingle to give the sense that something is going to happen now that the guardian is dead. More please.
