Blame it all on me.
Believing in simple things became too hard.
Hoping for a better future was gone,
No one ever liked the uncertainty.
Holding back was easier than moving forward,
People started to lose their will to just be.
With a halo on my head,
And nothing but thorns in my heart…
I made it so convenient,
Playing the role of such an envious part.
A feeling so black and lecherous,
Has no place under heaven’s arc.
A life that’s left too many scars,
Created a monster to exalt its wrath.
And now, licentious to whom we really are,
The briars fall in shattered paths.
With bloodied feet, we don’t have to go that far,
To die, to be, to sleep…
Beneath the stars.
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.

This worries me when I'm in Phoenix and you're in Florida. I want everything for you to be okay. Is it?

Mom
