The stars exploded with rage,
All at the will of a girl with dirty hands on a crumpled page
Streaking the singed edges with salt from internal wounds.
Tears freshly frozen, tapping lightly to the floor, breaking in pain.

One word, one thought, and a thousand more…
Flood the air, thick with gloom
The paper is too thin to keep the demons of worry away.
Her only hope is to last until the open hours of the day.

The fallen stars gather on her window sill to watch her cry,
Giving her half the moon, because that’s all they could take.
Soothing the same fears in two separate minds.
While protecting her from the night that was begging her to stay.

What the girl didn’t know, as she lay awake,
Room lit in silver waves.
The other half was hidden under a coat of a boy, a world away.
Watching a chill rise in his skin, as she shivered in the borrowed light.
His only hope, to last long enough in the darkness to see her face.

POWERFULLY penned and imaged verse, Mariah, the opening grabs the reader and makes them beg for more - they come to a satisfying conclusion that lingers long after the words have been read - well done -

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Soulmates will forever long to be united, even though they're not always aware of it until they come to know each other,
an excellent, vivid and emotional write.

Riveting story wrapped in a light coat of mystery...keeps the mind thinking and the heart reaching out to both boy and girl and hopes that destiny will return them side by side.
