Time Heals

They say time heals all -
Why does pain stay
hitting like a brick wall?
It comes it goes each day
causing one to stumble and fall.

The memories of a shared life -
so fresh, they give a start.
How to live with such strife
to carry on as one departs?
No comfort will suffice.

An empty heart, a broken spirit -
sadness fills the soul.
How can one avoid it?
The feelings play their role
on a human candle no longer lit.

Don't dare say it will get better -
with each passing day
these words in a letter
cause such a disaray
to a heart in a fluster.

We never know the re-action -
we'll take when one is gone
some build a partition
for way too long
they choose to bury the emotion.
 

They say time heals all -
however for now the wound
gapes open like from a fall.
The lost Spirit will silently swoon
down to give peace to all.
