Astronomical occurrences -eclipses in particular- have always filled me with a sense of fascination and awe. I wrote this after observing one such event.
Last evening I watched
Earth's shadow
darken the Moon
to sinister red.
I tried comprehending
such immense
celestial mechanics;
but, failing,
found comfort in
my mortal boundaries,
glad I'll be dust
when this system crashes.
