Spirit's Lonely Road

Poem Artwork

Arise man,
But build not for me
The mystical pyre,
With smoke rising to the heavens,
Spirits carried on the morning mist.

Sing no hymn for mine remembrance;
Voices raised toward notion,
Cries to quell the endless pain
Of ignorance,
And nervous faith,
Passed one to the next -
A decree of hope,
Once forgotten in sterile silence,
Or clutched within, on dying breath.

Wander the Earth as you may,
But stray not on the crooked path to hell.
Sweetest aroma may guide you,
But lonely you will be,
Or not,
In truth,
 For façade will applaud you
In the swollen bough of fantasy
Where the fearful lay.

I long for ample breath,
And no awareness of aging sinews.
I seek answers to the questions posed by ancient souls;
Peace above riches,
Rest in eternal home.

As the winds gather,
And sea consumes the soil,
As cherubs herald the coming age
Of enemies content,
And inheritance for the poor,
Speak of me in passing phrase
As one who loved his fellow,
And carried goodness,
Deep within his soul.

I don't think you'll be lonely...for the line of your life...in the seeds you've planted...like this poem, sows eternal happiness in His company and all inhabitants of heaven with their humility, humbleness and empathy for all His children still on our earthly plains...
You have my mind wandering with thoughts of such a road...
Love and Peace~

The last lines of this poem "....speak of me in passing phrase, as one who loved his fellow, and carried goodness, deep within his soul..." show a wise perspective into your own life and belief in yourself. Others, I am sure, see you in the same manner, Frank. Nice writing.

Thanks,

Jill
