End of August,
sun - so - low in our eyes
that highlights subtle changes in hue,
the dark green leaves without the gloss,
and beige in the grass,
or the murky warm sea to leisurely soak in
despite the absent caress of the sultry morning air,
antsy August mocks us with this last dalliance,
As if Autumn could not slake this state of grace
or sensually bequeath it’s cozy cocoon
as it eases us towards the hours of darkness
