You called me on the phone today
Didn’t recognize what you had to say
I walk past the mom with her stroller
and smile, as if it were yesterday
The humble sun
is a warm breath in cold air
that fades,
The holiday lights turn on
The Gucci -clad Asian grads
hop an Uber
The silver fox enters the oyster bar
a party of fleece vests and loafers
In THIS hat if only,
my chin would lift,
If my shoulders could carry
only soft kisses,
that healed,
If my eyes could turn away
from the puddles at night
that turn to glass
reflecting our blurred heavens,
I walk along,
if only I could get home
INDEED...ONE CAN SOMETIMES FEEL OVERWHELMED AND SADDENED, ESPECIALLY DURING THE 'YULETIDE' SEASON. IT REMINDS THEM OF A 'HAPPINESS' THAT THEY MAY NOT HAVE. BUT, ACTUALLY 'HAPPINESS' DEPENDS ON 'WHAT'S HAPPENING'(POEM; "HAPPINESS VS JOY")AND IT CAN COME AND GO. HOWEVER 'JOY' WHICH IS THE 'PRESENCE' OF GOD'S LOVE... IS THERE ALL THE TIME. I DON'T CARE HOW 'ALONE' WE MAY FEEL...WE ARE NOT! GOD IS WITH US AND 'KNOWS' OUR SITUATION. THEN WHY ISN'T HE 'FIXING' IT ...YOU ASK? A GREAT DEAL OF THE TIME WE ARE UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT (PROV 3:5) WE KNOW WHAT WE NEED BUT WE DON'T. I WROTE AN ARTICLE ENTITLED "HIMSELF". WE'VE GOT TO TRUST AND HAVE FAITH IN GOD. FIRST; THAT HE LOVES US AND SECONDLY; THAT HE IS TOTALLY IN CHARGE AND... "EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT"(A POSTED POEM). TURN TO

A bit sad. Even a joyful scene of mother and child turned into loss. Makes me wonder what happened to cause your fantastic writing to turn into poetry like this…plodding through months as though they were walks in neighborhoods of gloom.
Very visual. And quietly relatable. Observing life and people is something I've done since I was a child. Reminded me of the song: 'Can't find my way Home' by Blind Faith. Thanks. Happy Holidays. r
