Frozen In Fear

I look down and see

The snow on top of the ice

And I become

One with them,

As frozen in the fear

Of falling

As the snow and ice.

 

I am so frozen

I cannot take another

Step and I just

Stand there,

Frozen tears

Run down my

Cheeks as I

Try to take

One more step

Into the world.

Susan, it's wise to step carefully in winter weather. I took a
skid on the ice last winter and spent six months in hospital/rehab.
I've decided to stay indoors until spring, if I can get away with it.
