What we think of others can be more important than what we think of ourselves, and physical sensation can be just as relevant as emotion.
Epitaph
Noblesse and true to everyone,
I weep for you this mournful hour.
Your beauty tainted by sadness,
Drawn across your face in a desolate frown.
Your anguished cries remain unheard,
For that is not your wont.
Alone you wage the fight that must never end.
Like a lost soul you cling to threads of hope,
That feed your spirit when many would despair.
I loathe to see you in this solemn mood.
Bring me your epitaph
That I may recompose with tones of love and laughter.
Your smile says enough,
Yet in your eyes a sign of greater pleasure can be found.
A face so rich in joy should keep its happiness eternally.
This will be how I picture you;
I'm ever at your side,
To watch you writhe with feelings that lie far beyond my mind,
And as you fix me in your gaze
My features change with ecstasy,
So with this epitaph you may become fulfilled.
