This moonlit night that carries you to me does purge my soul,
And whilst the bended trees are sparse,
For even they do see my plight,
We must recall the sentiments of old.
And where the wind blows to the wastes,
There I shall gather frozen seeds,
To nurture with a love sublime,
For time will ease their pain to help them grow.
And then the green of spring appears,
With all the hope of newborn life,
And coloured dreams do soon abound,
Where once the black and white of winter lay.
So wait, my love, as I must too,
For as this cold does chill the flesh,
The bleakness clears and then we are together,
With the warmth of passion latent in our hearts.
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
