Election Time

This is a Pantoum poem about different aspects of elections.

 

ELECTION TIME

 

It’s election time again,

The fur is flying,

The mud is slung,

Millions spent to win.

 

The fur is flying,

Verbal sparring matches,

Millions spent to win,

Dirty and tough.

 

Verbal sparring matches.

A nation at stake,

Dirty and tough,

Winners take command.

 

A nation at stake.

The mud is slung,

Winners take command,

It’s election time again.

I guess that's why we call it, “Freedom of speech.” So we can sling all the money and mud we want without being thrown in prison. We should throw in a few lies, half lies, and downright deception, to make it sound like we know what we're talking about.
