Abandoned Love

This is dedicated to all the pets that are abandoned by thoughtless humans...

Loyal companion

infinite trust

I stand

beside you

never a fuss..

Our souls entwined

bridged by a gaze

your happiness

is all

I ask for

each day...

Lost and abandoned

storm clouds loom

I search

high and low

looking for you...

How can I trust

or love again

memories of us

around every bend...

My new companion

starts the cycle

once more

they don't know

how far I've come...

(((zenith)))

what humankind does to animalkind...and their own kind...is cruel and inhumane

powerful, needed write

i used to have a 1/2 chow, 1/2 wolf...whoever owned him before *i got sultan at the animal shelter* abused him horribly...he wouldn't let you touch his head. i'd let sultan sniff my hand, talking to him gently all the while, and then go up under his chin around to the back of his neck and then pat his back...i was the only one he'd let do that. good boy...i miss my sultan, he died after many loyal years as my baby wolf *snif*

((((HUGS)))) and love,

karla. :(

Oh you have no idea how badly this affects me right now, just witnessed some jerk being mean to a puppy, the poor puppy didn't even understand why, I reported the jerk to the humane society, but still I can't get it out of my mind..

A sad but truthful commentary. It emphasizes the fact that we humans have a long way to go in finding our place in the wholeness of the universe and infinity.

Zenith, so sad, but true. Great write here! People forget that pets have feelings and emotions just like humans. I thank you for reminding us all with your beautiful poem! Makes me want to go play with Marley and Max! (My Yellow Lab and Rhodesian Rideback puppy.)

And they never will fully know or understand how far you've come. I have been there...and try as they may, they won't.

You are not just talking about pets, aren't you? There are actually real human beings going through this cycle as well.

A well-thoughtout poem indeed!

Thank you, Zenith, for speaking for beings among us, unqualified love us, can't speak for themselves.
I volunteer some of my time, to spend among these lost and abandoned ones. Naturally wish I could keep them all.
