Whether it’s a boy or girl
That you bring/brought into the world,
A GOOD MOTHER has the job of raising a child,
Not just every once and a while.
Train her or him as only a Good Mother can
So she or he won’t need retraining as a man.
Without this warning, I would be somewhat remiss.
I said that too say this.
To a woman most simple and plain,
Who has undergone the labors and pains,
I looked into your eyes a thousand faceless nights,
Witnessed the agony, joy and delights.
When I awakened and cried out in fear,
You grieved and shed a caring tear.
You were there when others were gone.
You rocked my crib and made it a home.
One day is not enough to say how I feel
For mending wounds I thought would never heal.
Thank God for making you a cut above
And for sharing a Mother’s Love.
For the admiration and adoration,
And all the Love that you gave for free…
THANKS MOM!
For being A GOOD MOTHER to me!

This poem is dedicated to my mother, Ann Duncan Cyprian (February 4, 1935- December 25, 1982) and to the GOOD MOTHERS of the world!
It sounds as though your mother was a WINNER! You must have the fondest of memories.
