As I entered into recovery and my new found life in Christ, I realized not everyone was as happy as I was about my new way of living.
I'm not the person that I was
Though they try to pull me back
I've seen the impending destruction
Of a life that's lived off track.
Perhaps they don't understand
Yet I pray someday they will
The price for selfish pleasure
Comes with a very costly bill
A price I can not afford
Or even begin to pay
So at the moment of decision
I chose to stop and pray.
"Oh God can you help me
can you save me please?
This pain and confusion
Has brought me to my knees.
For I have come undone
My peices have began to scatter
And any hope I had of fixing it
Has slowly began to shatter."
A refreshing discovery I did find
At that moment of despair
When I reached the end of me
He was waiting for me there.
This is where I came to know
Of a Savior so real and true
Just one touch of His hand
And there was nothing more to do
But trust Him cmpletely
And let Him have His way
For He alone could save me
On that darkest day
I'm sure you have heard of Him
Yet perhaps you may still doubt
From the very depths of hell,
It was Him that pulled me out
So I stand as His witness
And speak to you this day
Jesus Christ is the Truth
The light and the way.
What we do, we do moment by moment, day by day. The right next thing is always there for us to choose. Nice write. Beginning is the hard part, I know, been there, got the whole damn wardrob. Write, write, write and remember- nothing changes, if nothing changes.
We all suffer...once in a while!...It may be quite
"useful" process by which we learn from past mistakes.
Kathleen, you've risen to your challenge brilliantly
and turned them all...into opportunities...
God bless!
