Addis Addaba likes that A cool red sea flowing clear Pure running water Into yellow green fields Oasis touching rainbow hands In reality, dried moons linger Sitting on top of African hills Waiting for the great baboon To pucker his lips Blow the earth to hell with a kiss His breath smells of tepid warmth Hear the cry of the time keeper Sitting in his mosque tower praying Tempus fugit - Allah's gone home A new sun breaks the day Chanting percussionists sing Children are starving Children are starving Their bellies bloated and frail Love gives, love gives food Angel with a golden heart Pour your sweet wine War gods go away And leave us alone Praise to allah Praise to allah Praise to God Keep us on your thoughts We are Ethiopia We are Ethiopia We are Ethiopia We are the blood of the earth!
