my attempt to make the world see sense and to turn away from war

LET THERE BE PEACE

See the blood red setting sun,
Hear the distant crash of gun,
Hear the screams of dying men,
Again, again, again, again!

did the last war teach you nil?
Did it teach you just to kill?
Did it matter who had died?
Or that their loved ones knelt and cried?

Or did you just kill them as well?
Don't you believe there is a hell?
I have no time for priests who say,
OUR cause is right,go forth and slay!

But GOD did say 'Thou shalt NOT kill'
Though time has passed, HE means it still!
So heed HIS words, put down your gun,
And end this war 'fore it's begun!

I have one life, I give it free,
If it should save thy child or thee,
Kneel down upon the ground and pray,
That Peace at last, may come to stay,

And heed the word of HIM most high!
It's HIS decision who's to die!
