When I Think Of Love

When I think of love
I think of you and me
Two hearts beating as one
Walking hand in hand along
this journey that we call life


Like a caterpillar
love goes through stages
It begins with infatuation
but when love matures
it becomes a beautiful butterfly


Oh what a desolate place
the earth would be without
the refuge of your arms to hold
me when life leaves me in tears

And I will be here for you
to share every victory
and wipe away every tear


For if each of us places
the other's best interest
above our own is there any
mountain we cannot climb?


Who can separate us
from such love?
Integrity and devotion
is what I think of
when I think of love

Gentle Man, This poem is so profoundly beautiful, it just aches with love. I want to frame this and keep it nearby. A solace on days when only pain lives...an exquisite reminder that others love each other with grace and compassion... Molte Bella!!!!
