Your name has been held by generations

of men in our family

stemming from the Bible,

meaning "Name of God."

You should spell it out with pride.

This desire to abbreviate

leaves it meaning only,

"Name."

We'll call you that if you insist.

Be careful what you do

in this name;

we almost called you

"Russell Todd"

which means "Red fox."

Anyone could have

lived up to that.

"Samuel" is much more substantial`

a prophet's moniker,

for tough guys only,

visionaries with teeth.

I think you are

up to the job.

I like the name Johnathon for a boy, and Ronee' for a girl. Still, Sam is a nice name; we have a neighbor who has a son by that very name, and he is a good kid!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

I also love the names Jenna, Aurora, Bethany, Michelle, Kimberly, Susan, Ashleigh, Barbara, Josephine, and Danielle for girls, and Michael, William (Bill), Douglas, David, Justin, Jason, Garrett, Blake, Richard, and Nicholas for boys! But my favorites by far are Johnathon and Ronee'! :D
