Few people are as prickly as teens who are almost grown, but won't shoulder family responsibility. I keep telling myself to be grateful, it could be worse than a messy room!
I picked up your junk before company came so Dad wouldn't be mad at you. I asked Dad for your fun money so you wouldn't have to hear him sigh, see the eloquently raised eyebrows, and get mad at him. This malfunctioning circuit sparked your ire, you couldn't find your MP3 player after the stash-and-run. Your ingratitude makes me see funny colors of red running into orange. Next time company comes, I'll persist until you remove and categorize all your expensive toys. If angry is how I end up, I may as well start the process and end up with the result I wanted in the first place. This sickening algae-colored nagging you will never wear until you have your own passel of reckless, lovable children. Beware; I'm gathering my strength like a tropical storm.
yes, as parents, we need to make sure our children know responsibility. They also need to know that when a parent tells them something, it is for their own good, not ours just to be picking on him or her. Teens, are the most direspectful, when it come to repsosibilty. There are some teens who work, keep themselves clean, without being told, keep the rooms not only clean, and orderly, but there is a place for everything and everything has its place. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. Yes teens can push your buttons! But they grown and give grandchildren and the cycle continues :-) ........only as a grandparent when they swak you send them back LOL.
