Skies

Skies are still cloudy and grey and
trees across the fields look stark and bare,
but on the Birch tree quite close at hand
new life is beginning to stir.

Each tiny bud encased in a raindrop
shines like a crystalline tear,
for today fine rain mists the air
and a Blackbird is singing sweetly clear.

A herald of Spring not too far away
when blue skies and sunshine will follow,
new-born lambs in fields playfully frolic
and Primroses bloom in verge and hollow.

I can smell the Spring in the air from the pungent words. And in my heart I feel joy to know that soon Spring will be here. Bill Murray

P.S.

I saw where you and hubby are lay pastors.

I think you will enjoy this song.

Ah, yes, when the buds bud and the flowers bloom and the bees flit and fly from each to another flower to taste of the pure nector and the ragweed is putting out all the pollen which makes it very hard for folks like me to breathe. Spring, ah-choo!

Wonderful nature poem, that feels the spring before it arrives (here in Texas, spring is already around, and the cherry trees bloom). Franz
