Here's another of the poems written by the hero of my Quasar 169 sci-fi series, Alex Roglitz.
See him sitting quiet on the weedy lawn
He’s still for once,
but then he’s off again
I hardly ever see him
for it seems he’s always gone
chasing girls from school
like Anne or Jen
I wonder if I was ever anything like him
‘though here I am--
we’re barely deuce apart
For I see so much of me
I would like of him
like the wild abandon of his heart
He’s good-looking
in a way no one will see me
Yet compared to him I play the man
Sometimes he moves so fast
it leaves me queasy
and he’s yelling, “Catch me if you can!”
All I want is all the world
to give my brother
All I want for me
is him so safe and sound
After Dave, I know,
for me there’ll be no other
Brother, be still for once--
I like to have you ‘round
The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
