Some earlier works from here at AD.

She wants a man
She wants to share
Her gentle heart
Her loving smile

She deserves it

Oh, if I were but two men
I would show her
Her worthiness
By gentle adoration
But alas, I’m taken

I wish I could cry
About the suffering
The pain
The problems
My lies
But my eyes remain dry
Not even a sigh

Oh, I wish I could cry
About it

The great reasoner
Reasoning his way out of everything
He reasons and he reasons
He reasons greatly, he thinks

But his reasoning stinks

A butterfly landed on my shoe
It was a beauty of color and shine
I was frozen, unwilling to move
Didn’t want this moment to pass by

A touching of two worlds
So far apart and yet so close
The mystery grew as my wonder rose
How fragile it was, how tender its presence
It was as if witnessing a toddling rose

And then, suddenly, by a stir of its wings
It wandered off in that peculiar way
That butterflies fly, like a leaf in the wind
And I awoke, it seemed ages had passed

In that one moment of beauty and awe
I got a glimpse of what heaven is like
Eternal wonder and dreaming and love
And imagining bliss in the absence of time

The story’s only hearsay
From long ago and far away
But to me it sounds okay
I’ll obey
No matter what my friends say
Or if my girl doesn’t want to stay
Or if my family dies away
I’ll obey
Even if I cannot play
Or if you take my health away
I won’t live any other way
I’ll obey
The things are good that you say
I too want to be that way
Waiting for that last day
I’ll obey
Even if my heart is ripped away
I’ll still obey
I’ll obey

Freedom his mirage
Locked away inside the maze
Of his prison mind

I hate to say it
But it’s true
You’re not the one for me
I hate to say it
But loving you
Could never be in me
I hate to say it
But it’s true
What is inside of me
You could never understand
So this could never be
I hate to say it
But ones like you
Come thirteen in a dozen
You’re nothing special
Nothing much
Of what it takes for loving

Hold my heart in hand
Pass with me through depths of times
Fly beyond the soul

I feel so old
Been here too long
My feet are cold
I feel so young
Just want to jump
At every song
I feel so real
So cool and bad
I know the deal
I feel so fake
Failing in what
I undertake
I feel so right
Enjoying life
A true delight
I feel so wrong
I'm just a wretch
Not really strong

No one knows about this
How I feel for you
I keep you a secret
Now and then slip out a few
Hints about my happiness
But no one understands
What it feels like to be loved
Beyond any demands
I have no further sorrows
Nothing matters much
Because the love between us
No one knows of such
I keep you as a treasure
And you keep me as one
That's why no one knows this
No one, just me, no one

Old Master Bird
Tell me a tale
Of how you flew
Over lands gold and pale

Of how you sang your song
To the tribes of the South
Returned to the Northland
With treasure you found

An ancient scroll
With secrets inside
On how to do magic
Where seasons collide

A way of power
That no one may know
Lest they’re consumed
In a fiery glow

You carry the secret
From father to son
Until it is needed
When war is to be won

Let me be me
I will be fine
I don’t need more
I don’t need yours
My love is awesome
My love is great
I’m self-sufficient
Nothing’s at stake
I love it all
It all loves me
Yes I am happy
I’m very happy
Just let me be

I live to tell you
I live to bark
I tell to haunt you
A living spark
No one can blame me
No one can tell
I live to love you
A living well

How times have gone astray
In idle recompense
Long lost alas the day
When virtue forewent sense
As fortune bends my will
No zeal desired still
I loved you dearly then

Vinegar and apple juice
And just a whiff of care
About an hour of your life
And you are nearly there
Oh, children come and gather ‘round
Laughter fills the air
When expectation roams about
In every hopeful glare
Oh border winds, pick up your pace
And carry my delight
to every corner of the earth
to far beyond my sight

Oh, Angel without wings
How come you cannot fly?
Does someone hold you down?
Does someone have you tied?
But once you will be free
And you will soar the air
All your wrinkles gone
Complexion light and fair

Love takes a million
Hate takes a pound
Faith a gazillion
Loyalty a hound
Live free and prosper
My blessing you’ve got
Live free, my darling
I love you a lot

Rage rages within me
It is barely contained
With all my negativity
My appearance is stained
My good heart is failing
Love is never gained
I’m lost to society
I’m never ordained

Do you know what it is?
Have you ever heard?
Did you live to see it?
Has it occurred?
I don’t have an answer
Neither have a clue
I have no experience
Don’t know what to do

I know your name
But have we ever spoken
I know your face
But have you ever broken?
What’s wrong with me?
I’m meant to live forever
But it’s plain to see
I’ve never seen it ever

Sleep
Sweet dreams
I dream my life away
Sweat
Hard work
I feel so proud today
Girl
My love
I guess I’m glad to say
No
My life
The price I have to pay
Okay
It’s okay
It’s okay...

CERTAINLY A 'BARING' OF THE HEART, SOUL AND MIND...OF ONE SEARCHING STILL FOR 'THE ONE' TO SHARE A LIFE-TIME WITH. FOUND IS ONE ELEMENT IN ONE PERSON AND THEN...ANOTHER ELEMENT IS FOUND IN ANOTHER PERSON. NEVER FOUND ARE ALL ELEMENTS ONE SEEKS AND NEEDS, WRAPPED UP IN 'JUST THAT ONE PERSON'. BUT IT'S OKAY, IT'S OKAY...'CUS IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT OR YOURS. AND SO, AS ONE PRESSES-ON TO ANOTHER SURE DAY, THE CONTEMPLATION THAT YOU JUST 'MIGHT' HAVE FOUND 'THE ONE' THIS TIME, BRINGS A CONTENTMENT AT LEAST FOR NOW. LIFE! OUR JOURNEY! OH, WHEN ONE PONDERS OUR GUIDE, THAT IS, OUR CREATOR GOD...WHAT A MYSTERY HE IS! AND YET, '...ALL THINGS WORKS TOGETHER FOR GOOD...' AND ALSO '...THE JUST SHALL LIVE...BY FAITH'! ONWARD AND UPWARD, MY SON! GREAT SHARING, SO ENJOYED, D.T, THANK YOU. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

That's a very fine set of short poems that say a lot. The themes vary, but they all seem to make one point or another that makes good sense, the essence of good poetry--communication.

It is sad that you are receiving more comments, because the slices of life are very good.

Our poetry is like a photographic memory. By reading back at what we have written before we can probably remember the why, the when, the where, and of whom we were writing about. There are many poems here in this post to refresh your memories.
