~A Shade for Grey~
Tucked away in the county of Antrim,
Northern Ireland beautiful beech trees
thought to be around 300 years old
According to local records, James Stuart
planted the 150 beech trees in 18th century
to impress guests as they approached his
splendid property, Gracehill House
Legend tells the spirit of a maid, who lived
in neighboring mansion died in mysterious
circumstances hundreds of years ago,
haunts this country road still
"Grey Lady" silently floats along the road
and quickly disappears as she reaches
the last beech tree

Call it Paranormal or Supernatural,
do we cohabit...just on different
planes until Revelations comes about
See you on the other side someday..
Believe, Disbelieve or just Indifferent

and yes we do transition... she is there as so are
many others... but naturally I know these things...
seek the beauty they already know and revisit here
where we sometimes are fortunate enough to see it for
our-self...
Beautiful history and truth so many do not wish to witness...

Beautiful the 'Beech' trees. A tri-colored beech tree is gorgious.
Fascinating poetry my lady og Ireland's ole.

so so many of these stories and happenings
surrounded me; in today's Ireland there are
considerably fewer of them - the country, the people
and the values have changed radically and i daresay
we are the poorer for that; here in Singapore, hundreds
of these stories abound and Russell Lee, a local writer,
has collected them in 22 volumes and counting!! they make
great reading on wet afternoons.
Thank you for sharing

Much enjoyed the story, although the ghost of the maid is probably just morning fog. I'm sure that the man of the house had an affair with her that he conveniently covered up. Much easier in those days than today. The ghost was probably his conscience getting the better of him or rumors about what happened from others that knew what was going on.
