Fears and Tears
Fears that I may be wrong. Fears that I may go wrong.
Fears that you may see that I am wrong;
Fears in silence, fears in song – all become my companions, my true st companions.
Tears that lie low in my heart. Tears that rise and throng.
Tears that have remained long with me since childhood, in battalions.
Tears that have pushed me to my table, to my pen, all along.
I pray at your altar o my fears and tears,
Since you’ve been with me all these years,
Make me a beautiful tomb.
Give me a creative womb
That breeds left and right
Gripping me day and night
So I can sit in a boat of fears
That will sail in my sea of tears.
