All Gone

The one who was all to me, is now no more than a doll to me,

She’s outgrown me and found newer joys and philosophies

That exclude me, keep me quite out of her attention and notice.

The world that seemed small to me is now not that at all to me.

It has grown too vast and unmanageable, unattractive and cold.

I have to wade through its grime as one without a real plan of action.

Life would beckon and call to me as though all fortune would fall to me.

But now I see its empty hopes, mirages, hallucinations; all that’s not there.

I wait for that which must of necessity evaporate into thin air and disappoint.
