A revelation of mankind's current status

 What the Black Sky Said

That day the clouds poured down, then there was a sudden lull; quite unusual.

I looked up at the black sky to see what met my eye and found no direct signal.

The gloomy vast presence in the sky, sulking, solemn, spoke something serious;

Uttered without words, that needed interpretation, a message mysterious.

The world is changing, God has left; what remains is pride, corruption and crime.

Instead of pristine serenity or the sense of fulfillment, is left just noise and grime.

The love that bound us, brought us up, indeed found us, has also disappeared.

What is left is just a consciousness of gendered reality, our faces smeared

With the soot of false identities and power equations that equal to doom.

We are left alone, without God, manipulating the quick oncoming gloom

That will send mankind helter-skelter, making them stand as though in hell;

With no courage, no faith, nor any real power to escape, scream or yell.

We will stand, barefoot, in eight inches of that filthiest of matter, not feeling dead;

Quite alive. Till a man comes with a whip and shouts, “Now stand on your head.”

I have the feeling that the power you're speaking of is coal-fired electricity that is both beneficial and bad. I'm not sure what that last line means, but it sure reads “dictatorial” to me.

These are the actions, the tales, the limitations of man, not those of God. They make for interesting reading, cautionary portrayals, but they also are the stuff of false beliefs and high anxieties. I share your concerns about man's weaknesses, but to me black skies say only "rain."

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
