The Sun
The Sun enters our lives daily, is one that never fails, yet hardly hooks
The imagination like the moon with its silvery looks. The sun in its routine
Like a wife’s contrasts with the other woman in one’s life who is changeable
As the moon. It is overlooked if only because its regularity breeds disdain.
Will remain most potent, the life behind all life, its arrival shakes up the world;
Wakes it up to action, providing a traction that sets everyone to work.
It organizes life, like an angry wife, seated in centrality, the don of the heavens,
Bullying with absence, intimidating with excessive presence.
Highly welcome in places and highly unwelcome in some.
Dictatorial in regions equatorial, allowing the poles to freeze with ease,
The guardian of climates, atmospheric by will, able to roast or equally to chill.
Are you the face of God? Are you in his nature dressed? Wielding the rod,
Conniving the exploiters and the oppressed, you control the present and
On you depends our future; when you cool off the world colds off to death.
