999, What's Your Emergency?

I've got IBS so I'm gluten-intolerant. Thus I haven't had a lager, one of my favourite drinks, for about six years...then I found a gluten-free version, and as was my usual habit I quaffed it down with a straw and became immediately light-headed (in a good way) and extremely sozzled within a very short space of time. Then my creative juices started flowing while I was intermittently laughing at nothing in particular. This culminated in my having silly thoughts and one of them was about the type of calls idiots make to the emergency services when they've either got a screw loose or, like me, imbibed a great deal more than was good for them. This was the silly little poem I made up under the influence, and it only took me five minutes from the first verse to the last.

Drunken Disorderly

I sat there sucking on a straw trying to get a little more

Of a drink I hadn't had for many a year

Twas the taste that hit me first,

as it began to quench my thirst

Then I began to giggle, and grin from ear to ear.

Couldn't keep my head on straight,

in my inebriated state

Since 9% proof was really much too strong.

There's a lesson in here folk,

and I'm telling you no joke

Don't leave binge-drinking sessions for quite so long.

Had a wheeze, had a plot,

had a plan worth a shot

Why not call the police and get them to help me out

The alcohol had took its toll;

I couldn’t find the remote control

So I called the cops and told them what it was all about

Goodness me, I'd hardly finished;

my drunken state somewhat diminished

Clearly I can tell you I was in pieces and in bits

The fuzz came to get me tested,

would you believe I got arrested

Seems the emergency services ...

shouldn’t be used by rat-arsed twits!

"Hello 911… I've got a problem… Can you fix it? I had to laugh at the end to your poem. I certainly hope it was just your poetic license and it didn't actually happen.

I've been known to get sloshed a time or two, but in that state totally unable to write a poem. If you did you have great cognitive fortitude.

Heh.Heh This was a funny poem all the way through, and the fact that you wrote it sloshed, made it all the more humorous.
