Yes I've had my heart broken; who hasn't? And I find in my deep sorrow a rhyme to match the occasion and tell of my deep feelings, especially if the object of my desires was a cad and took more than he left behind.

A keen collector of women’s tears

You act like you have no remorse

Stacked up like holiday souvenirs

Along with broken hearts, of course

You’ve trodden this path many times before

You have no scruples about it at all

It seems that you’re just keeping score

As you paste more tears up on your wall

The grief you made and the tears I cried

Left me deluded at the end

To want the love that you denied

Can’t even class you as a friend

I’m less deluded but now I’m sad

I thought we had a special thing

But dealing with someone so bad

When all I was, was just a fling

Now all my love is locked away

There’s no time for a man of vice

Who lives off all his selfish ways

I’ll no longer make that sacrifice

Good luck, your future looks so bleak

Never mind what I have lost

Cos you’ll realise that it’s you that’s weak

When you come to count the cost

Fooling under false pretences

Truly you’re not very nice

Breaking down my strong defences

Cruelly never thinking twice

So you’re a collector of tears like trophies

Well, no more from me, now just go please!

As I observed early during my teenage years, girls tended to be attracted to "dangerous" guys who were really just cads. I guess it was the excitement or the need to escape strict parental control that drove them to these no goods. That attraction often fades in the reality of a relationship. Regardless of whether you are man or woman, is probably good to do your homework before getting involved with anyone. No one likes being taken advantage of.

Your poem talks of breaking free… That's the first step.

Very heartfelt write, and I agree with Jerry, you're the winner, and a stronger person in the end.

You have the right attitude, and was able to express that attitude in excellent rhyming verse. You are the winner, not he.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
