Craig turns Fifty
I cast my mind back and I clearly remember
Back in the sixties, sometime in September
My Mum said that soon, in the next month maybe
She announced to us all, she was having a baby
I was seven back then, and the first that I knew
Was when Dad came and woke me, to introduce you
And there you were tiny, and wrapped up real tight
I got a brand-spanking-new little brother that night
He’s more than a friend, is my little brother
He supports me no end and I’d soon discover
A closeness; a warmth, a great sense of humour
You’ve no idea what he means to this Baby Boomer
That October baby was a blessing you see
A little sibling for my other brother and me
And as we’ve got older, things wouldn’t be the same
If that night, all those years ago, the Stork never came
The baby’s a man now, the years have sped by
He’s reached the big Five-Oh, this exceptional guy
Happy Birthday dear Craig, my sentiment’s sincere
Though my recall is vague, ’66 was a good year!
