darkness

there is darkness in every soul

hiding away

bursting forth unbidden

in passionate fury

or lying dormant

silently consuming

our hope

our loves

our dreams

 

bravely meeting

owning that darkness

defeating its power

diffusing its poison

gives us power

to hope

to love

to dream
