I was sitting alone one night in NM and the wind was blowing?... it was dark and late and this is what happened...

What’s that tapping at my window?
I’m sure the wind does not blow.
But yet…now and then I hear
A crack or two that is quite near.

Again! There it is again.
Will this tapping never end?
Perhaps it’s a bug that flies at night,
And is drawn to my inside light.

Here I am…all-alone
In a empty lonely home.
Tap…crack…tap-tap-tap.
Now there is another rap.

What or who can it be?
I’m too afraid to go and see.
What if there are eyes that glow?
Or maybe a face that might show.

I guess I’ll just go to bed,
And rest my weary frightened head.
And hope no more will I hear,
A rap-tap-tapping that is quite near.
