After my Mother's death, I became very disgusted with my life and the choices that I had made. I was missing her so much. She was all that I had.

                                   ~I Over Came~

We were outside laughing and talking about old days

It never dawned on me that it would be the last time

That I would see her beautiful face alive

She was so excited and had a glow that I had never seen

Though I did wonder where all the happy was coming from

My mother, my best friend, and my queen to me he was everything

The closeness that we  had shared all of my life

It came to an end so soon that I begin to feel hurt and strife

I never dreamed that she would leave me so early in the years

For many years, my every thought of her brought down my tears

I never wanted to let go of her, she was all  that I had

Frustration began to hover over and within my life

I had to get myself together and put up a mental fight

I was always so very observant and strong

And It was very hard for me to be torn down

Even if someone did me wrong

I would still stand very  tall  and hold down my own ground

She for many years would always would say to me, you are the best child that I have

And I know that you love me with all that you have within you

Because you have shown me each day that you do

And you always know and never forget that momma loves you too

She embraced me that night like she had never done before

Though I encounterd such a strange feeling when she entered the door

I never thought it would be my last time seeing her alive and well

Now I know what that feeling was about, I could tell

After talking to her on the street for hours that same night

When I went into my house the feeling I had was not right

Never knowing that the very day that I dreaded so much had come

And I would now have to face

That my mother had ran her last race

At first I did well as she had always said I would

But when my heart felt so very empty from me missing her

I went through a rough time and I did what I thought I should

To make things right and better for me, I decided to just leave

I ran and I traveled to many places really trying to fill that void

But when I learned  how to just embrace and carry her within my heart

And not weighing the burden of her loss on my mind alone

I then could think of her and smile with joy

Remebering all the good and bad times that we shared

My mother was all that I had all in this life until she passed away

And over time I grew very sad, and in return it made me mad

At the time I was feeling GOD took the only true friend that I had

Many years has came and gone away and now I can truly say that I am okay

In my heart is where I will always carry her and I will forever carry her with me every where I go

Now, today  I can true ly say with nothing but happy in my heart,

                                           I Over Came!

Absolutely so, we have to keep our eyes on the prize no matter what we endure in this life and I am grateful that my mother taught me GOD's value as I grew up and she also prepared me for such times, although it was still hard, I made it through it,I learned to carry the memories within my heart, that helped a great deal. thank you!!!!

I am sorry for your loss, my mother's passing followed health decline, age, and her loneliness for Dad, it was not easy giving her up.

Because we are Christian we have that hope that we will see our mothers again one day and THAT gives hope and helps to ease the pain.
