I have attempted to paint a picture with words of the various sights in Colorado, most of which was formerly Texas before being hijacked. LOL

Majestic mountains meeting marshmallow clouds
Verdant valleys resplendent with vegetation
Crystal clear creeks cascading down to the crowds
Sandstone statues the God’s special sensations

From the painted plains to Pike’s prominent peak
Vivid virtual vistas vie for your vision
Rainbow colored clays and native mystique
Once the home to only huge herds of bison

Mineral spas, steam caves and powdery slopes
Nature’s playground to be forever preserved
Home to the bear, puma, deer and antelope
Birds of prey flying free and are conserved

The regal Rockies rising up to meet Sol
Reflecting rays in an eerie alpenglow
Over the massive mountaintops standing tall
A piece of heaven known as Colorado

Ok, that does it. Oklahoma is too hot and muggy this time of year. If y'all are looking for me, I'll be in Estes Park, enjoying those views, vistas and verdant valleys. :-)

Seriously, I spent a lot of time in Colorado as a kid, and Steve, you've captured the ambiance perfectly...reading this has been wonderfully nostalgic.
