Happy Winter Solstice

Let Winter Solstice bring us
The festival of light,
When daylight is the shortest
And longest is the night.

Rejoice in days of Saturn
With laughter, wine and cheer,
The winter is upon us
With the ending of the year.

So let your hearts be merry
And let regrets be few—
The old year we’ll bury
And usher in the new.

Whether you call it Christmas
Or Kwanzaa or Yuletide—
It’s time for celebrating
The festival of light.

This is the real season
When everything’s reborn—
The days will grow longer
With Sun in Capricorn.

So light your Christmas candles
And celebrate the light,
The sun will grow stronger
And overcome the night.

So let your hearts be merry
In welcoming the light—
The new year is upon us
With hope shining bright.

Whether it’s Christ or Horus,
Apollo, Buddha, Zeus—
This is the time for laughter
And spreading of good news.

So let the light of knowledge
Announce that it’s begun—
The Age of New Beginning
With the ascending Sun.
