There Is a Ship Upon the Ocean
There is a ship upon the ocean,
Sailing through the mist of stars--
Sailing through the world's commotion--
Shining like an avatar.
Seeker of the mystic visions,
Floating in the outer space--
There is a ship upon a mission
Carrying the human race.
While some travelers are tired,
Calling for the journey's end--
There are others still inspired,
Brave enough to break the trend.
There is a ship without a rudder,
Where it sails--a mystery--
While some break into a shudder,
Fearful of its destiny.
There is a ship upon the ocean,
Sailing through the mist of stars--
Sailing through the world's commotion--
Shining like an avatar.
I've been looking out the window,
Thinking of that ship at night,
That awakens me each morning
With its essence burning bright.

The Door: Selected Poems
It's spinning so fast that it makes a complete rotation every 24 hours, 50,000 miles. It's rotating the sun at a tremendous rate. And the sun is also moving around the Milky Way galaxy at a very high rate of speed. The Milky Way galaxy is moving away from the Big Bang; some measurements seemed to indicate greater than the speed of light.
What holds our little ship and us together? Gravity. Time to take care of our little ship. It's the only one we've got.
