A poem of love & loss

' Cool Seas & broken Glass '

Those broken shards of coolest green glass,
That sparkle on the sands
Polished by the rolling, tumbling tides,
Caressed by wild storm winds

Lie dazzling sweetly on strings,
Above loving hearts that beat
In remembrance of waves that caressed,
The memories of the ocean's deep

Those tides that rose on distant sands,
Still stir in restless longings
Of sailing ships and far shores,
Echoing in the salted breeze

And weep of golden days,
That rippled so earnestly
Cast on deserted sands,
Forlorn and waiting, so endlessly waiting

How poetic to think of shards of glass to be "mermaids tears." But I'm afraid that picture will not last as we go down in years. For green glass bottles floating have not been seen for years. Plastics have taken their place and multiplied our fears.

A lot of added adjectives in this poem, but I seem to have found the poem's meaning among them. Thank you for sharing!
