A philosophical poem for the end of the year.

 'Elixir of Life

The tumultuous seasons of our days,
The valleys and the summits
We dream our dreams,
In our youth ablaze

The high winds of achievement,
Wafting through our sails
To find the compass in our souls,
To write our scripts, and tell our tales

The endings and beginnings,
The pauses to find
The love of love,
In life defined

A reason to be, a need to know,
What is and might be
As dreams have flown,
Where we can't see

Those seekers who seek,
The rovers and poets
Who fly and sail high,
To far distant ports

To find in the travels,
Of adventurous minds
The elixir of life
Mature and sweet, on free climbing vines

Mary: This is also a great poem for launching a new year, one on probability, alone, that will be far better than 2018. All the best to you sweet lady. May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back. And may you be in heaven half and hour before anyone knows you're gone (many years from now).

"To write our scripts, and tell our tales," certainly sums up a writer's life well along with a few other lines from this sterling poem. Enjoyed.
