A poem written to express the desperate need for change

'The Bell Curve'

We live and die on the edge,

Of the bell curve

A trajectory of change,

Waiting to be born

The unstoppable force,

Of equality for all

An existence and expression,

Of human happiness

Today and every day,

The resistance grows

Against the edge of insanity,

That pushes us to oblivion

In each small moment,

That curve deepens

Against the veiled indifference,

And the power that enslaves us

The challenge will grow,

Until we see the way

On the leading edge for freedom,

At the end of the curve

I'm afraid that the gap in income inequality will widen into a chasm that the rest of will get pushed into. Trump's tax cuts were predominantly, for those already wealthy, and let them become even more so. The rich get richer. How much is enough?

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
