This poem was written with reference to Northern Ireland, and
expresses the longing for a peaceful inclusive society in the future.
It could however easily relate to the other great divisions in our world.
We certainly do hold the key. So many times in the past when an insurmountable barrier to progress seemed invincible, the foes stepped forward and joined hands, and in the long siege. Let us hope that happens for Northern Ireland.
