How to be,
With such certainty
The ground was straight and strong,
But I never saw the cracks
That would swallow,
My very soul
The making in the moments,
The leveling
The down on my knees,
Begging for relief
Yet somewhere inside,
In the bending to circumstances
The accommodations, the compromises,
The grace to forgive
I found in the magnitude,
Of every wave that hit
Mercy for my soul,
And I am alive to know
The consolations of love,
The truth of survival
In a world of uncertainty,
And I am free
