How to survive the loss of the love of your life, even when you are expected to just get on with it.The fight to overcome indifference to your plight.
'Survival' The conversation that never ended The room that emptied And everyone has left And you must survive No time for dreams No place to be The silence that shimmers In the edges of your heart Climb those impossible heights To tranquillity Above the dying moments You left behind Bury the indifference you see The normality of expectations In every situation You must meet Still that emotion The breath and light in your soul The meaning of everything Until you find your peace To reflect and accept You are a survivor In the sea of life And begin a different conversation ©Mary Cecil

It must be very tough to survive a spouse that you have grown so accustomed to that you can't live without them. Yet I am amazed at how well my twin brother done after losing his second wife of 25 years to a tragic accident, a fall from a staircase. Quickly he has learned to live alone and to make the best of his life, surrounded mostly by her family, because our family is far away from where he lives.
