The expectancy of hope, to triumph over adversity

'Hope'

Living on the edge of hope

That beckons above the abyss

When your spirit longs

To soar free

To turn every facet

To mine the depths of doubt

That lays siege to your soul

Those shadows that dance

On the mirrors of your mind

To obscure your dreams

To escape the depths that stir

In every dark moment

Of yearning

To break your spirit

Yet there it lies

A gift of expectancy

Hovering beyond all reason

That place where triumph

Rises to beckon

You one more time

To see the victory

Over adversity

Salvage your spirit

Conquer the fear

To find in those valleys

And high mountains

Where hope lives

Waiting for you

A tale well told, Mary.
I was just thinking about your posted picture. It looks like you could be in a nice cozy sports pub knocking back a pint or two. What a great place in which to write a poem or tell a tall tale. Either way, cheers to ya, I hope 2020 brings you lots of laughter so you can keep on writing. Much Love to you, Ed
