Very few of us get to live on a island. It rings poetic to me. When you are isolated on an island, the great works of the past may be a way that you pass your time. Those of us stuck in mainland commuter traffic have little time to re-examine the great classics unless we are, somehow separated from society long enough to read anymore.
Still, time allows us to be whatever we want to be, and through bucket lists in retirement travel to those places where great ideas were placed on paper so long ago. Unfortunately, the great library of Alexandria is under the sea.
This collection of poetry addresses the nature of time, reflections on the natural world, the difficulty of loss,
contemporary social issues and gratitude for life.
