RICHES OF MY FATHER
I awoke this morning
To find my Father
Had draped the world in diamonds
Each blade of grass
Each far reaching tree sparkled
Like a prized jewel from Tiffany’s
The poor of the ground wore gowns
That bedecked and bedazzled in ways
That rivaled their more
Cultivated and well bred cousins
The shoulders of the hills were draped
In an exquisit stole of white
More lush and full
Than any ermine or mink
My Father’s riches
Decorated the world today
The sight of it brought laughter to my lips
And joy to my eyes
Just wonderful.
Glory to God!
