The Capital has many things
In the grip of its great hands
People created history there
Words become law there

Truth is discovered by some
Lies are told by others
Fame comes to the unknown
Ridicule is burdened on the famed

Monuments stand for the great
Buildings are symbols for power
Memorials remember the fallen
Cemeteries to bury the taken

These things are in the capital
These places are there to see
Some visit to sightsee
Others visit to seek answers

We found ourselves in the Capital
Tired and emotionally drained
We did not seek anything
But we left something behind

A man with too few years
With a wife and four children
And a family of many more
We left him in Arlington

A place for the great fallen
That have come to rest
One sunny hot morning
We buried our brother

So of all the great things
That lie in the Capital
Remember that not all
Are made of stone and words
